The Crown Rivers - Hounslow (Heathrow Terminal 5 Airside)

Visited 21st November 2011.

Today I'm off to Sweden... Actually, yesterday I was off to Sweden when my flight was cancelled, no reason given but I'm guessing it was fog... or it was to dark... or there was an ant on the runway. What this means is that instead of spending a day travelling, arriving in plenty of time and then getting a leisurely look around the local town before relaxing for the night in my hotel I am having to get up at a ridiculous time and spend my morning rushing around knowing that I will arrive at my meeting three and a half hours late!

Coffee, I need a coffee, fortunately there's a Wetherspoon very close to my gate where I end up spending a huge amount of money for a small cup of coffee. However the 'spoons was fine and the young lady that served me (and was also kind enough to take my photo) was extremely chirpy for such an early hour.
Sadly I hadn't done my homework and didn't realise there was a Wetherspoon Express somewhere nearby, never mind, I'll get it next time...

The Jug and Jester - Leamington Spa

Visited 14th November 2011.

A short walk down the hill and you come to 'The Jug and Jester'. a complete contrast visually to the previous pub.
Inside you get the impression that several building have been joined together such is the contrast in styles and although a bit quirky the overall effect seems to work. I went to one of the bars with my table number and ordered a chicken breast burger and a pint of Pepsi from a pleasant, helpful barmaid and it seemed that I had hardly returned to my table before the food was arriving. Very fast service! My opportunity to see Leamington was short but what I saw I liked. Definitely somewhere to re-visit when I have a bit more time to look around.

The Benjamin Satchwell - Leamington Spa

I've started a new job and today they are sending me on an induction course in Leamington. A quick look at the Wetherspoon website and I find that there are two pubs for me to visit once the day is done, great news. Following a day of PowerPoint presentations find that by the time I have walked to the pub I am more than ready for a little chill-out time. The first pub on my list could easily have been mistaken for a small tea shop but upon entering it opens out into a huge space. Very deceptive from the outside. It's a very long pub and also reasonably wide. There is lots of wood paneling in evidence and also lots of booths to hide away in. I thought it was a great looking pub, both from the outside and the inside. A very friendly, chatty barman served me with a half pint of Adam Henson's Rare Breed and I was tempted to also have something to eat but decided in the end to wait until I arrived at the next pub on my list. Apologies for the state of the self-photo, daughter Sinner seems able to easily take arm length photos, me, not so much!
