Basically this is a diary of the various Wetherspoon and Lloyds bars I visit and any adventures on the way, with maybe a few words about life as we know it thrown in for good measure.

The Parchment Makers - Havant
Visited 31st May 2009.
OK, so I was feeling bored one Sunday afternoon. It was one of those rare sunny days so I decided to fire up the bike and head off to the coast. Beach of choice today was Hayling Island. Don't believe the signs, Sandy Point isn't! What it is, is a steep, stony beach which today was a fairly lonely place. And dry. So after a short twenty minute walk - just enough to work up a thirst it was time to head for the nearest Wetherspoon watering hole. Which just happens to be in Havant. The map shows it to be only a five minute drive away but this doesn't allow for all the people trying to get off the Island via only one bridge. So twenty minutes later I arrive at The Parchment Makers. An unexciting exterior doesn't do justice to the cool and friendly inside. I was spotted taking my photos by a pair of natives who quizzed me and then offered to take my photo. By the time I got inside word had spread of my mission and everyone including the barmaid was pointing in different directions trying to indicate the next nearest Wetherspoons for me to visit. All in all a pretty decent way to spend the afternoon!
Determined. If it involves a beer. This has led me to commit myself to a "Quest" to visit and have at least one drink or meal in each Wetherspoons pub in the UK. I have set myself no time limit, in fact I have not set myself any rules other than the most basic.
Never drink before noon,
(it's always after noon somewhere), when in doubt turn left and never run with scissors.
