Basically this is a diary of the various Wetherspoon and Lloyds bars I visit and any adventures on the way, with maybe a few words about life as we know it thrown in for good measure.

The West Gate Inn - Canterbury
Visited 27th February 2010.
On the map it didn't look to far to our next pub but it was still pouring with rain so we opted to take the car and were glad we did. It turned out that it would have been a much longer walk than expected and would definitely have benefited from a warm sunny day. The East Gate Inn was absolutely heaving with people and we struggled to find a table, in the end we were spread over two tables continually eyeballing the room looking for people leaving. As you can can imaging it took a while to get served. The waiting wasn't to bad though as there were a lot of women dressed up to go out, kind of like a hen night but at lunchtime. There was even a table of cheerleaders. I've no idea what was going on but they were a ray of sunshine on a soggy day! I think Canterbury would be a nice place to have a wander round and take in some culture, next time we visit hopefully it will be a little drier.
Determined. If it involves a beer. This has led me to commit myself to a "Quest" to visit and have at least one drink or meal in each Wetherspoons pub in the UK. I have set myself no time limit, in fact I have not set myself any rules other than the most basic.
Never drink before noon,
(it's always after noon somewhere), when in doubt turn left and never run with scissors.
