Basically this is a diary of the various Wetherspoon and Lloyds bars I visit and any adventures on the way, with maybe a few words about life as we know it thrown in for good measure.

The Powder Monkey - Exmouth
Visited 9th March 2014.
We have been in Exeter for the weekend visiting a friend and taking the opportunity to vistis a couple of 'spoons too. This morning and part of the afternoon we have been in Exmouth walking... Walking is not a usual activity for myself or Mrs S. but the friend we are visiting is a keen walker and knows many interesting places in the area and she was right, we did enjoy it. We had walked along the cliff top and then made our way down to the beach where I was trying to tempt the ladies into having an ice-cream. They declined saying we were going to have lunch soon and unusually I also refrained. Lunch was in The Powder Monkey. The pub was very busy when we arrived and it took a few minutes to find a table but we eventually did and I ordered a Chilli dog and large Pepsi for me and a Baked potato and pulled pork filling with a large Pepsi for Mrs S. The pub was small and dark but comfortable and we ended up staying for quite a while, infact by the time we left the afternoon crowed had left and we were almost on our own. It always feels a bit sad when we leave Exeter, we don't get to see our friend as often as we would like and the weekends never seem long enough (although most weekends never seem long enough) but hopefully we will get to see her again in July when we have a trip to North Devon planned.
Determined. If it involves a beer. This has led me to commit myself to a "Quest" to visit and have at least one drink or meal in each Wetherspoons pub in the UK. I have set myself no time limit, in fact I have not set myself any rules other than the most basic.
Never drink before noon,
(it's always after noon somewhere), when in doubt turn left and never run with scissors.
