The Windlesora - Windsor

Visited 11th April 2009.

Situated between Chicago's and Liquids nightclub The Windlesora attracts a younger, lively crowd stopping off for a drink before dancing the night away. We arrived early and ate before we also moved onto Liquids. There were a few hen parties in attendance and no one was safe (woohoo!) as was found out by a young man at the table next to us who was persuaded out of his boxers. He'd just managed to get them back on as the bouncers arrived and voiced their general opposition to the game!

The staff were efficient, the food was good and I have returned to The Windlesora several times since.

The King And Castle - Windsor

Visited 27th March 2009.

A Lloyds No. 1 bar. The price of food and drink reflect the fact that The King And Castle is situated directly opposite Windsor Castle and will catch a large number of the tourists visiting one of the most popular attractions in the area.

A nice place and popular. This means long waits at the bar. OK, now for a bit of a moan. I've always believed that a good barman is aware of who is waiting at the bar and then serves them in the order of who has been waiting the longest. The barman working our end of the bar followed a different pattern based not on who had been waiting the longest but on who was showing the most cleavage. This meant very, very, very long waits for about half of the people wanting a drink!

Probably not going to return to this one. Never mind, plenty more waiting...
