The Felix Holt - Nuneaton

A short walk from The William White is The Felix Holt. Very much a contrast to the previous pub. A medium sized, light, square room that was very busy. Whilst not as "architecturally" interesting as the previous pub the friendlier bar staff gave it a much better feel. I had a double Buffao Trace and Pepsi with Mrs S. settling for a hot chocolate with lots of canned cream. The barmaid was very obviously enjoying herself building a whipped cream tower with a huge amount of intense concentration and Mrs S. was presented with one of the best looking mugs of hot chocolate I have ever seen in a Wetherspoons.

The Thomas Lloyd - Warwick

For our final pub of the day we had to drive a bit further but at least it was in the general direction of home. We arrived in Warwick just as the market was starting to close and just as we were starting to lose the light so we hurriedly took a few photos and then went for a look around the town. We ended up buying a lot of sweets and some Christmas lights before returning to the pub for a drink. I liked this pub a lot, mainly due I think to it being a lot larger inside than it first appeared with what seemed to be lots of side rooms or "alcovey" bits. Again it was busy and it took us a few minutes to find somewhere to sit. We did eventually and I was then promptly dispatched to the bar to purchase another couple of hot chocolates, our drink of the day it seems. We sat and read the Wetherspoons magazine while consuming our drinks before deciding it was finally time to leave the warmth of the pub and once again brave the rain. It had been quite an exhausting weekend with a Christmas party and five pubs visited. I wonder where we will be this time next year?

The Sir Alec Rose - Port Solent

Our next stop of the day was 'The Sir Alec Rose'. which unexpectedly turned out to be in a nice location overlooking a marina. The downstairs area was very quiet but it was a bit busier upstairs. We ordered a hot chocolate each and sat outside drinking them overlooking the boats. Yet another bag of Monster Munch was consumed by Mrs S. I settled for a bag of salt and vinegar, we really needed to get some food. Maybe at the next pub.

The Moon Under Water - Cheltenham

There is a conveniently located car park less than one hundred yards from this 'spoons which had plenty of free space so we parked up and took a stroll. We liked this one as well, Cheltenham was on a roll. It was reasonably busy but Mrs S got us seats and we sat down and took in the ambiance. Mrs S liked the ceiling and we especially liked the way the bottles behind the bar had been displayed. As it was a bit nippy outside, Mrs S was in the mood for a mug of chocolate complete with tiny marshmallows. Unfortunately she was out of luck as they had run out of marshmallows, on the plus side they had a bottle of Buffalo Trace (and when that ran out they had another). All in all Cheltenham proved to be an interesting place to visit and we certainly enjoyed the two Wetherspoon watering holes it had to offer. Tomorrow we have designated as a rest day (hooray, no shopping)  and then it's back home. I wonder home many pubs we could visit if we had a week off work, hmm...
