The Britannia - Rowley Regis

I had a plan, at least for the first eight pubs that I intended to visit today and the main part of that plan was that all the pubs would be reasonably close together. Obviously this was to save time and allow me to cover more pubs so I was kicking myself at spending far to long finding 'The Britannia'. I parked and turned left from the car park, walking in the general direction of the town and then proceeded to wander in circles looking for the pub. I finally hit upon the idea (following one of those 'Doh' moments) of looking for increasing door numbers to find the pub, being fairly sure I was in the correct road. I ended up walking only a few hundred yards past the car park I was using to find the pub bathed in glorious sunshine just waiting for me to enter. I did and on this occaision really felt that I had earned the large latte that I settled down with. The pub was fairly busy but had a nice relaxed atmosphere, helped I'm sure by the cool, greenish interior and the friendly barstaff. I didn't tarry as I knew I had a busy day still ahead of me so as soon as I had finished my coffee I was on my way back to the car and on to the next pub.

The Van Dyke Forum - Bristol

The last pub on my list for today was a bit of a surprise, something a little different. The outside certainly didn't prepare me for what was to come. It was a bit barn like inside but but I loved the green metalwork and especially loved the fish. I sat drinking my large latte and reading my book, determined to finish it before heading home. Fortunately by now there was not much book left to read and I finished reading at about the same time I finished drinking. As I left I stopped for my last photo-shoot of the day and headed back to the car. And for once, it wasn't raining (so glad I left he bike at home). Not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon and I know I'll be back as there are still five more pubs in the city centre to check out.

The Metropolitan Bar - London, Marylebone

We find ourselves with some unexpected time on our hands so a quick look at the Wetherspoon directory informs us that there is a 'spoons directly between us and Paddington next to the Baker Street tube station. It turns out to be very easy to find and we are soon sat at a table drinking pints of Green Jackets and admiring the fancy lights and ceiling. For me, surprisingly, this was the Wetherspoons of the day (and the beer was fine too). One thing about this hobby is that you are never quite sure when you are going to find a little gem.
We eventually made it back to Paddington and guiltily stood eating yet another burger whilst waiting for our train. Note to self... Stop eating so many burgers... Ha! Like that's going to happen. An hour and a half later, foot sore and weary, we made it indoors and to bed. Great day!
