A short drive from the city centre and we arrived at 'The City Arms' where to our amazement we found an onsite car park with, even more amazingly one free space, which wasn't free for long. We took a few photos and then went and got a beer and some some lunch. Mrs S. had a Pepsi and I had a half of Plum Pudding. It was quite dim inside and again it was another busy pub. We couldn't decide what to have for lunch as we were still recovering from the large "full English" that we had back at the hotel so opted instead for a bag of Hula Hoops each. Another decent pub with the added bonus that we didn't have far to walk back to the car.

We followed the directions we had been given, passed the fountains and soon spotted the V-Shed. Easily the busiest pub we had visited so far today. Stiggy had been telling me how to "feed the pony" en-route (a phrase I'd never heard before) much to Mrs S. disapproval. Mrs S. took some photos, just me this time as Stiggy had legged it into the pub before I had a chance to grab her. The inside of the pub pub was divided up into three floors and we headed straight to the top where the girls grabbed a table and I was dispatched to the bar to order two sticky toffee and custard puddings, a crumble and custard, two lattes and another refreshing larger shandy for myself. The girls sat and chatted while I was left to work out how to get to the next pub on my list. We all liked the great location of this pub along with the view, certainly our favourite of the day so far, but we still had two more to go...

It's back to the car and a short drive down the hill to the seafront. We find an expensive car park and start to search on foot for our next target. The first thing we find is a much cheaper car park! Still, we know we're in the right area but we must find it quickly as the girls want pudding! Whoops, they get side tracked by the shops. I put it to them that it really was time we to the pub for some toffee pudding while forgetting to mention that England had been playing Italy for some time now. Eventually we made it and I was able to sit with my pint of of Silent Slasher and see the last few minutes of the game, which we won, Hurrah! The pub itself was warm and busy and the girl who served us was very pleasant. But we can't sit around enjoying ourselves, the shops don't shop themselves and we still have one more pub to visit.
