The Hart & Spool - Borehamwood
Visited 11th February 2013.
What we have today is totally unplanned and fairly last minute. My daughter is being sent on a day course that involves a trip to Borehamwood. Work have been kind enough to give me the day off so I will be her chauffeur for the day, or at least there and back. This means I will have to find something to do during the day...
We set off very early, partly as it was snowing, but mainly because we had no idea how busy the traffic would be. As it turned out we made it with about one and a half hours to spare. The nearest Wetherspoons was just around the corner so we thought we might as well go and get some breakfast. It had stopped snowing so we took a quick few pictures and went in. It was empty! With us two in there the staff still outnumbered the customers, a first. But we did get very prompt service. I had the traditional breakfast with a large latte and Miss Sinner opted for a nice cup of tea and a bloomer sandwich. The pub itself was a traditionally styled English pub, which as it turned out was to be the order of the day. We finished up and I took Miss S. back to her course and then set sail (so to speak) for the next pub on my map.
