The William White - Nuneaton

Iron Maiden headline at Download

Visited 17th June 2013.

We had a great time at the Download festival but as always there comes a time when you have to go home and today's the day. But first we will pop into a few 'spoons, not least for breakfast. We were all exhausted and slept in so late we only just made it. The William White turned out to be a medium sized, dark pub with a central bar and lots of booths around the edges and unusually there was music playing. I had a large English with a large latte with Mrs S. going for the eggs Benedict and a cup of tea. Maybe it was a bit early (11.45 am) but the barman taking our order seemed as though it was all a bit of an effort and would rather have been anywhere else and had a strange habit of allowing the hot milk to run over his thumb as he held back the froth while making the latte. To say I was unimpressed would have been an understatement. The breakfast when it arrived was not the best one I've ever had although not the worst either but it was a shame as it was a nice pub but we left it feeling a bit deflated by the experience.
