The Railway Bell - New Barnet

Visited 11th February 2013.

The Railway Bell was to be my last pub of the day and I managed to park in a road opposite which paralleled the railway tracks. Although it looked as though it was trying to snow again and was getting pretty cold again it was nice and warm inside and as it turned out quite busy too. It definitely had the feel of a proper working mans pub but the staff were friendly and quickly got me a Pepsi. I sat and drank trying to work out if I should visit just one more pub but decided against it in the end as I wasn't sure how the traffic was going to be and did not want to invoke the ire of daughter S. Photo's taken, drink drunk and back on the road. As it turned out I made it back to Borehamwood with plenty of time to spare. Not a bad day, plenty of pubs visited and the weather, although it started a bit rough, never got worse, I just wish I was better at the early starts!

The New Crown - Southgate

Visited 11th February 2013.

Time was moving on so again this was a flying visit. I parked up, entered and ordered myself a Glitter berry J2o. As with a lot if the "London" pubs this one consisted of a large open area, dark wood paneling and the obligatory booths. Just the way I like it. Another check of the time and I thought I could just fit one more in before I had to go and collect Miss S.

The Moon Under Water - Enfield

Visited 11th February 2013.

Again, it wasn't to far to the next pub where I managed to park the car in a side road to the rear of the pub. The weather seemed a lot better now so I was able to walk in to the pub with a bit more grace than at the previous pub! I ordered a large latte and went and sat in one of the booths. Not to much to say about this, It was large and airy with a few bookshelves up on the balcony. On the whole I liked it but didn't stay to long as I was eager to get back on the road. How many more could I fit in before I had to be back in Borehamwood to collect Miss S?

The Picture Palace - Enfield

Visited 11th February 2013.

By the time I reached The Picture Palace it had started snowing again, not much, but just enough to be annoying. I managed to find somewhere to park a little way down the road opposite and quickly ran (well, sort of slowly jogged really) to the pub. I decided to take the photos on the way out in the hope that the weather would be a little better. Inside there was a large, open, bright airy, high ceiling'd space, and it was nice and warm. I sat with my Pepsi while I dried off and played a few games on the phone. This was definitely the busiest pub of the day so far. After finishing my drink and about half a dozen games of patience I peered out of the door, where the weather seemed to have cheered up a little again, so I ventured back out and took my photos before heading back to the car.
